Missing or despawning even one champion can cause you to drop from Platinum to Gold rewards on many of the lost sectors. This has drastic affects on your drop rates for exotics.Defeat everything in the Lost Sector, especially the Champions. Chamber of Starlight can be glitchy whereby the Champs don't spawn properly until you reach the far side of the room near the chest.
