I think loot must despawn out of crates if not interacted with, maybe to help the loot economy/hoarding. My base is on official. So…. I had weird experience where gas came down, but it started raining a couple minutes later and the gas dissipated. Award.The first three of them you find, and crates you craft. Untouched, all 4 of them will last for 45 days without interaction. After the 45 day timer runs down the containers (and everything in them) will despawn. To reset the timer all you need to do is interact with them. This is as simple as taking something out, or putting something in.
